Principal / Certified Soil/Wetland Scientist

 

 

Mr. Ferwerda is a principal, Soil and Wetland Scientist with Meridian Land Services, Inc.  Over 27 years experience mapping and delineating soil and wetland boundaries.  He is responsible for high intensity soil maps produced according to both Natural Cooperative Soil Survey standards and High Intensity Soil Mapping standards for New Hampshire.  Wetland maps produced according to both State and Federal Wetland Delineation requirements.  Successfully prepared numerous wetland permit applications, mitigation and restoration plans. He has also conducted wetland and wildlife habitat evaluations.

Mr. Ferwerda has supervised the design and preparation of commercial and residential subsurface waste disposal systems and obtained State and local approvals of these designs.  This included soil investigation by logging soil profiles, percolation tests and site investigations.

B.S. Wildlife Biology, University of Massachusetts, Amherst

12 Credit hours of soil science, University of New Hampshire at Durham

Numerous seminars attended relevant to soil and wetland mapping and wetland evaluation.
